Hi, can anyone recommend a good body wash for very dry skin.  After radiotherapy my skin is so dry and itchy, I moisturise like crazy and doc has just prescribed an emoliant, but I'm concerned about shower/body wash.  I'm on tamoxifen.  Thanks x

    Hey

First of all, you're a trooper getting through radio! I hope going forward you don't have to have much more gruelling treatment. It's also lovely to meet you, although not under the circumstances that you find yourself here.

In regards to your skin, it's a funny delicate thing anyway isn't it! You've probably tried E45, Cetriben and Aveeno lotion, but my best advice is to just check each bottle and make sure there is no alcohol within the ingredients, as that can be a thing that really causes your skin to get dry, especially with how sensitive yours will be at the moment. I know Sanex is a very gentle body wash. There is also Eucirin you could use.

But having looked at some information, my best advice would be to try to leave it be (I know how much of a pain that's going to be considering how itchy it is) and wash it daily with just clean warm water. It should keep the area clean without irritating the skin where radio has been directed.

I really hope this gets better for you, I can seriously understand how horrible itchy and dry skin can be. I also hope that you're doing well through any treatment you're having. Let us know how you get on, and remember you've always got someone here to talk to, even if you just want a rant Haha.

    Lots of love,

    Alex xxx
