It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • So agree . I used lots of visualisation techniques through my treatment. Still do it now. Xxxxx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • , meant to add but it would not let me edit, when I got Breast ca 10 years ago I was on a very bad situation, between a rock and a hard place, and the BC have me a perfect way out. Bit drastic, but my body was really telling me something ! Xx

    Hi Moomy

We did salute to the sun. I did it standing both times. Arthritic knee won't let me get up and down. Then EBR 7. Now I'm not sure which bit of me hurts the most. However I've also helped hubby carry old sofa out to the garage so that might be the culprit either.

I've done visualisation at yoga and at the Haven. That, relaxation and breathing techniques have been invaluable over the past couple of years foot surgery and BC. I can reduce my blood pressure just by breathing.

Now need to go back to sleep.I hope New sofa comes today or we will be sat on camping chairs for the Queens so each.

I hope the electric stays on today. I have a day planned watching Netflix sitting on new sofa.

    Happy days

My migraines worked a bit like that. If I didn't  listen to my body they forced me to stop. Drastic situations need drastic solutions in your case.

A few years ago after getting anxiety and panic attacks, A dog behaviourist (!) who wad hwlping with my damaged dog picked up on it and suggested A Human Givens therapist. I can honestly say it was life changing. Only had 3 sessions and yes I'm  still a very anxious soul, that's  who I am but I have control..

  • I’m intrigued by all this and suspect i e found a perfect sleep method (yes, yoga, I sleep incredibly well after my weekly session even if I ache a wee bit going to bed)

I’m now fully convinced that the stresses of life especially during our working lives when we women have so much to balance can cause problems, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the 8 years of added worry of daughters illness was instrumental in my bc getting going.

I think it’s high time I looked into the self hypnosis for immune levels! Where do I look, ?

there are loads of free ones on you tube just put " strengthenn immunity hypnosis" in the search box.

I bought three from Uncommon knowlege. Not at same time, not cheap but oh so worth it for me. Prepare for surgery which is visualising arriving at hosp confident etc ans great outcomes, a help yourself heal and strengthening your immune system

OH thinks I'm  losing it. I'm  a very down to earth grounded soul usually so the anxiety floored me!

  • Thank you , I will also point daughter to this too, I’m sure it will help her.

Seem to remember you said daughter had mild issues with GVHD there is one on reducing symptoms of autoimmune disease, I know not quite the same but similar process

  • She did indeed, still reintroducing foods gradually. But mostly it’s her immune system, normal count (I forget which blood test number it is) is 6+, hers was less than 1. Hence regular immunoglobulins each autumn through to spring to try to keep her well.

I’ve ordered something from Amazon, made by a qualified UK hypnotherapist, put it on my wish list but it’s really for her, will check it out though!
