But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

I do bread the old fashioned way. Thumping and kneading very therapeutic. Proved twice as well. I actually find I can tadte weird things in bought wholemeal bread but do like the odd cheese topped bread bun. And there's a whole new thread. What do you call a bread roll?
Hi ,
what do I call a bread roll? Depends what shape it is!!!
but yes, thumping the dough is very therapeutic! It’s just that the machine does stuff at all the right times, and takes the pressure out of worrying where is warm enough for proving in the time you’ve got!
but fresh bread is just so gorgeous.....I’ve a slice waiting for butter and Marmite right now!

Today’s plan?
We are back in to the museum as this mornings Bombe operator is away, so we are covering till the afternoon person comes to join in. Not seen her for ages so will have a wee catch up.
Then on our way home I will get the chest X-ray that GP has requested (still coughing but I bet it won’t show anything!)
This evening our last yoga session in the block before Christmas, then she will start again early in January.

Yoga this evening. (That will please Apple Watch which has been nagging me!)
I spotted a red sky this morning which has certainly been borne out with the weather today, it’s horrid out there!
Chest X-ray duly done. 10-14 days for report to GP.

Hi Moomy
I'm off to Yoga tonight. My backs nagging me after wrapping Christmas pressies. Plus table mats. Over the years I have many mismatched ones so I cover them with appropriately coloured wrapping paper to make them coordinated. Usually in a panic Christmas morning. I put a strip of same paper round the jars of cranberry etc. ( Saves washing up).
Wind has caused power cuts up here. When I rang they said it was the trees flicking the wires. Power stops as a safety precaution. I said the fault need sorting. " No There isn't a fault, it's suppose to do that". It took me a while for her to understand they needed to cut the trees, or have a word with God to stop the wind. Living on top of the Pennines the former would probably be easier.
Just wondering if Wreck it Ralph, nickname for 19 month old granddaughter, can reach the mantle piece decorations. Fire guard protects some things.
Happy days.
This weather is something else. My BCN phoned today to check antibiotics had worked and ask when I finished R/T.
When I said all was good and I was waiting for side effects she said " Well some people do seem to get away with it" Repeated admonishment to phone if I was concerned.
Windy wet weather meant I was forced to buy mince pies to cheer us up.
Enjoy yoga peoples I will stick with my auto hypnosis tape "strengthen your immune system".
That sounds interesting, strengthening your immune system by hypnosis sounds a touch unreal....
got a small dinner very early so my tum is ready for bends in yoga.....

moomy years ago I did a short HIV course and my essay was on psychoneuroimmunology. Its worth a Google
There is research to show immune system benefits from autohypnosis better immune response
If you imagiine chemo and r/t working it does help. Also better to use non confrontational imagery. Example chemo like marshmallow smothering ca cells not soldiers killing. Or elves sweeping the cells out of the bodymaybe.
I've said somewhere that I try not to see cancer cells as an invader, rather some of my cells with a faulty off switch
There is such a deep connection between the brain and physical health most of which we don't understand.
Interesting , I will have to investigate all this. Yes I do know that we know far too little about the interactions of body and mind. Part of the reasons I’m enjoying yoga I guess, it’s trying to achieve movement and poses in mindfulness with breathing control too; no time to think about anything else!
