But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

I watched the Invictus Games closing ceremony (just to see if I could spot daughter , mostly just saw her legs and end of trombone slide!)
Today I stripped and washed bedding and replaced with fresh, got it very nearly dry outside before the threat of rain, completely dry on the airer in front of big kitchen fan. Then I cleaned the house and as it still wasn’t raining, rapidly mowed the lawn. Made lunch (very late and I was hungry!) and sat down to watch tv, fell asleep over ‘you’ve got Mail’ and realised it had, indeed, rained! Then I just felt virtuous, having got all that done first!
Have had back pain a bit more recently, probably all that garage clearing….

Yes, we just have to keep going moomy Apart from reduced energy, hobbling a bit I’m kinda plodding along. Still trying to balance thyroxine and considering a break from Letrozole to see if that helps energy levels. Will wait a month until after I’ve had that time on a slightly higher thyroxine dose. I need a boost as there is a fair bit of decorating to do.

Ooooh, decorating can be tiring and it then makes other places look as if they need it, very frustrating! Take it steady, Flossie25 !
How much longer will you be taking Letrozole? I’m finding I feel better now that the oestrogen busting meds are properly out of my body.

I had an onc review after 5 years in July moomy as I wanted to “optimise” time on Letrozole. I requested a further 2 yrs although onc had communicated to hormone clinic dr another 5 yrs might be beneficial when he reviewed my histology. I got the letter from hormone clinic dr after I’d seen onc so didn’t realise this and he didn’t mention it in clinic. It’s usually those with large tumours and +ve nodes who benefit from extended AI I was told but he’s happy for me to continue for 2 yrs and I’ll be reviewed next year. I must be mad but at least I can stop it anytime !!! I would like to have a break just to see if I improve re energy at least.

Aha, that explains a lot, my tumour wasn’t that big although 8/8 +ve, however I was regarded as low risk due to no spread and a mastectomy being advised due to previous surgeries in that side.
Hope you don’t find the extended years too hard. I gather it can take a good 3+ months to get out of your system too.

My tumour was small too moomy and had micromets in sentinel node at first op. That was classed as negative and meant I didn’t qualify for oncotype xx. All other nodes were negative. Nodes at mx , my 3rd op, were clear ( intramammary one and another “floating” one). I too was 8/8.

Wow moomy your daughter must be so well known and her playing is beautiful as I remember listening to the YouTube clip you put up awhile ago.
after berlin we stayed near Eisenach apparently where JS Bach lived for a bit - now anything more Moomy? It was a beautiful area and we walked through woods, lots of walking paths.

Hubbie has given talk on Muons at his conference while I went walking in the heat again, temp was 28° in afternoon. Photos to follow. Hubbie has arranged a similar conference in 2025 at the Harrell Science Park, he’s very excited and now others are!

the town nearby was flooded 2 years ago and they are still rebuilding and making new. It’s quaint but so touristy with clothing outlets and loads of restaurants and cafes, all either side of the river that runs through the middle.

and a shorter walk yesterday as my calf’s were cramping!

you can just see the huge dish over the trees in the distance!
now we are close to Maastricht, hoping to take a boat trip. The weather is humid and cloudy, but may have more sun tomorrow. It’s been another hot trip but cooler at night.
hope you doing ok Flossie25 and all

Ha, predictive text has a lot to answer for, Jayhay !
lovely photos, though. I seem to remember a reference to those falls somewhere? Ah, perhaps it was a similar name in the Sherlock Holmes stories? Eisenbach Falls?
Harwell? I drove past that name in my way south to near Fareham.
My claim to fame coming soon is that I ‘might’ be on duty in the museum for the international AI conference coming.
And yes, daughter has spent a good few years getting her name known, she was ‘networking’ even while at conservatoire, and she is currently President of both the International Trombone Association and the International Trombone Festival And yes, with all her medical history I’m incredibly proud of all she’s achieved.
