It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

  • I’m so lucky in the folk I’ve got to know! Hubs was very keen on his woodwork, and had bought a lot of machinery. I had and have no idea of it’s worth or what to do in trying to sell it. But a good engineering friend we’ve made visited on his way home from another project, and had a good look and has taken a list to investigate and advise, bless him. He did steal a big hug from me! (Always did that whenever we met, did exactly the same to any other lady Bombe operators he got to know!)

So hopefully I might get the garage a bit clearer soon. Now that I can walk through it, thanks to daughters help last week, it’s not quite so desperate, but is needed!

Otherwise today has been a quiet day, apart from tying up next years fruit growth.

  •  , we stayed at Harrell science park a few years ago. They have accommodation for staff/students and let rooms.

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • And predictive text has done it to me too!

  • I’ve messaged my GP asking for a referral to hand surgeon. I’ve been struggling for a while with a finger joint (for those in the know, left index distal interphalangeal joint) that was arthritic and has now decided to sublux. It’s rather sore….I think the only way forward now is arthrodesis. There’s not much movement left anyway now. I guess I can blame the oestrogen busting meds. I just hope I don’t have to jump through several years of procedures to get there.

  • I’ve been doing a bit more clearing of garage and have almost got rid of some stuff for free (bikes, folding chairs and a kite!)

Im feeling a bit better today, have had a couple of short naps (really needed!) and hope I should sleep better tonight.

I’ve been gradually coming off Lansoprazole in the hope that my bone structure should improve (Dexa scan in around 2 years from now) but the indigestion gets me sometimes!

  • Coooo! Bikes have gone, chairs and kite have gone, also hopefully got rid of more ‘stuff’ and son helped demolish a short shed and move stuff around, lots of tidying place is beginning to be a bit more manageable.

A good morning at the museum, too.

  • My worrying problems have not gone away. Daughters relationship has broken up, partner has been increasingly controlling and not at all trusting. Partner had a very deprived childhood, and hasn’t really moved beyond the problems it’s caused and has no real insight. Now daughter wants to find the right moment to move out (and hopefully bring Henry-dog with her), she’s already begun to move boxes here and has looked into renting a garage to store the furniture that’s hers. When the moment is right she’ll hire a man with a van and move all at once. I’ve pointed out that she needs to do it all so that if locks get changed she won’t be deprived of belongings.

So my sleep is deprived as of course I’m very concerned and want to help as much as I can. Clearing my garage is one step in the way! Then hopefully her renting a garage won’t be for too long.
