Hi all had my surgery 4 weeks ago sigmoid removed snd another 15cm off my small bowel and previous ileostomy recited. I have a large open wound in my stomach where my mucus fistula was as the tumor grew out the fistula into my tummy it was large!
recovery was hard Ito begin with as I was discharged less than 48hrs after surgery because Covid was  bad in the hospital.
I went to see my consultant Wednesday and he removed 21 lymph nodes and he said one looked suspicious Unamused

so I have to go and the oncologist for mop up chemo not something I’m looking forward to months of been poorly I feel like the last year I have spent the last year battling something.

to be honest I can’t get my head around what’s happened so quick I just want to be to my normal self .

  • Well done . You have really been through the mill. I hope you heal quickly. I understand you are not happy about the chemo, but if you had a suspicious node it would give you the best chance of remission. It’s awful to feel you have been ill fir so long, and then you face more of it before you can get back to normal. Good luck x

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Hi

Hope we can be of some support to you as you face this final hurdle . All I can assure you seeing my mum eventually come through all her treatment and back to her previous health was so encouraging and despite it being incredibly hard to keep picking yourself up and going through each aspect it does eventually stop and your life will return .

Till then much support and understanding is here for you .

    Take care ,
