Hi

Just posting on the off chance to see if anyone has experienced anything like this ………5 mths since higher anterior resection for stage 3 (1 lymph Impacted out of 15) cancer in sigmoid colon. Recovered well from surgery, everything had settled and Capox began just before Christmas. Since finishing chemo and due to feeling so much better my activity levels have improved significantly. Now having issues with dragging/heavy and at times sharp pain on right side from hip bone across to centre line down to lower pelvic region. Wondering if I’m maybe just doing too much too soon or I have irritated scar tissue etc. Calling colorectal nurses for guidance but wondered if anyone has had a similar experience?

  • Hi

I noticed that your post hadn’t yet received any replies, so my reply will put it back up to the top of the discussion list where it might be seen by someone who has experienced the same. It’s good to read you’ve recovered well from your surgery and are feeling better now your chemo is finished.

I had a different type of colon surgery to remove my rectum, and didn’t have the same type of pain as you describe, but I wondered if you had received a response from the colorectal nurses yet?

I hope you’ve managed to receive some assurance now.

  • Hi

Like you I felt I was doing well initially but now have almost constant abdominal pain like cramps. Thought it came on after eating but then started to notice it was there when I awoke each morning. I have taken meds for it when really bad otherwise just try to ignore it.

Discussed with colorectal nurse who said to mention to surgeon when I see him at appointment at end of April 2026.
