Hi can anyone tell me there experience of folfirinox please. My husband is on this now and he is wanting to know if anyone lost their hair on this chemo if so how far into treatment did this happen? Also did this treatment work for you or not? My husband is T4 n1 m0 adenocarcinoma colon cancer did anyone else have this diagnosis please?
Hi Hayleyc89,
My husband is stage 4 colon cancer. He is currently on folfoxiri,he's had 3 cycles with Avastin being added next time. So far he hasn't lost his hair, although it has thinned quite a bit, I think I read it's after about 4 or 5 cycles hair loss is greater but not for all people, same as the side effects, seems to be different for each person too. Again whether it works or not seems down to the individual, some people have great response, others not so.
Here's hoping for great shrinkage.

Thank you for your reply my husband is on he's 2nd cycle and so far apart from the feeling nauseaus and tired he hasn't really suffered like we thought he might from what we have heard so hopefully he will continue this way. Hope everything goes well for your husband xx
Stuart just has 1 a day for a week and he has steroid tablets for the 1st 3 days after chemo.
I'm doing ok I guess, we have 5 children so they keep me busy it's hard because me and my husband are both off work and the kids are off school again now so I'm finding it difficult keeping the kids entertained so Stuart can get plenty of rest.
It's such a big change isn't it life just feels like it's been turned upside down but we will get there.
I hope you're doing ok xxx
Gosh, 5 children, covid restrictions and now home schooling, what a trooper you are. We have 2 to homeschool and I'm not looking forward to it. It certainly does turn your world upside down, I struggle with not daring to plan anything too far ahead, just incase. Sort of puts everything into perspective too. I dread the wait on chemo days, whether his bloods will be good enough for chemo, then I do the what ifs even though it hasn't happened, always been an overthinker.
This forum has been a godsend, finding people in the same situation.
Take good care, good luck with the homeschooling too.

It's definitely a challenge!
I'm an overthinker too I can't relax on chemo days until stuart sends me a message to say he's on the drips I was looking at he's blood results the other day but I don't really know what is good and what isn't yet it's still all new and I'm not allowed to the appointments with him now and he doesn't like to ask questions he just goes with the flow. I have also found this site a god send it really does help to speak with people that are going through the same.
Xx
