Start of a new month and a new chat !
Hopefully we will encourage each other through treatments , recovery and living life through this month too .
My plan for this month is to keep my step count up. Starting to think about flexible ways to face the next few months .
Stay safe,
Court
As you can tell, I'm a Charlie fan! He's helped me over the last year with his sketches, so I thought I'd share another. If you want to see more there is a group on Facebook, Keepers from Charlie Mackesy.
Not sure where September went, or indeed the last few months. Looking forward hopefully things will ease up medically, though I do expect another lockdown this month just so they can lift it for Christmas. Cynical maybe, but realistic?
court, yes I need to attempt to keep moving more, so will join your club. Did you do your sponsored walk in the end? Hopefully all the long term people will start to drift back. If not then I hope they are all well and coping, which is what I wish for everyone.
Be careful out there.
Gemmary - I’m a Charlie fan too. My granddaughter was given his book last Christmas . I loved it and bought and I never tire from dipping into it, particularly when I’m awake in the middle of the night.
Court - I think I need to join you with a step count every day.
Stay safe everyone x
Hi everyone. Yes I’m still here and still surrounded by boxes. Hubby has nearly finished building the new wardrobes so hopefully we can unpack a couple more. Had a couple of rooms plastered last weekend so just waiting for those to dry out. I’m well trained now and know to supply workmen with hourly cups of tea and not to tidy up behind them as apparently they ‘know where everything is’ when it’s scattered across the floor?! Looked after Mabel a couple of times and it’s lovely being able to see her without it involving a 3 hour round trip. On the downside I’ve only been able to see my parents once since we moved as Calderdale is on extra restrictions now. Doing ok health wise I think. I was due a colonoscopy before i moved so I think I’ll get in touch with my new doctors and see where the colorectal support team is based - if I can’t have a colonoscopy then a CEA check would be nice for my 4 year anniversary at the end of November. Take care all x
Well, October. Hmm. Still waiting to hear about the biopsy results of the polyp that was removed during colonoscopy around six weeks ago. I am in a lot of pain in all my joints and muscles, and have raging headache a lot of the time. My insides keep cramping. Being so isolated has really driven my mental health right down, and at the moment, I am not coping very well. It looks like the lockdown is going to be going on for quite a while yet, and I am not relishing this one bit.
I am essentially a prisoner in my own home, wrestling with worrying symptoms, and having anxiety gnaw at me about polyps growing right next to the site of my original tumour.
I absolutely need a holiday!
Robin
Hi stoatlord
Just wondering if your GP shares the same clinical portal and could check if your results are in the system . My mum’s GP has helped a few times when the wait was just too long !
I think there is enough uncertainty out there just now and life is fragile so if you can reduce your stress in even one area it gives you less to have to content with .
I was just chatting this through with my mum about where to pitch this in terms of staying safe but having enough living going on to keep you healthy in other ways . It’s not an easy balance for people to achieve and needs support and understanding .
Are you able to get back to the park again ?
Thinking of you and also trying to think of practical ways to get through this .

Hi Kareno62
So pleased to hear you are making progress . You made me laugh about clearing up after workers . I am so guilty of that ! An old lady told me make an effort with your hospitality and you will have a good relationship with people working in your home . I never forgot it and it’s been sound advice. I actually missed the builders on my extension when they left . I was really sad to see their upbeat personalities leave my property ! I also found their psychology evaluations on people hilarious. They told me I had life easy . As long as everything was chugging along in the right direction I had the most laid back husband. They must do a lot of people watching along the way .
Glad you are making progress with the decor and settling into the area . Hope your parents are ok too. The restrictions are so hard on so many levels just now .
One day Macmillan put up the number of views beside posts . Think it was an error but your quizzes were very popular!
Good to hear from you ,

stoatlord really sorry to hear. I know some of what you are going through, and also am concerned that we may get locked down again. Message me if you would like. I too need a holiday, but am lucky to live rural. I get jealous of those who say they have/are on holiday though.
court and I will join you with the step count, but probably somewhat slower!
Storm Alex today, so maybe time to sort my workshop.
So sorry you’re stuck in the house with ongoing distressing symptoms. stoatlord. You’ve had a really rough time. You should definitely have had your biopsy results after 6 weeks! Hope you can get some answers soon.
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
