Hi everyone. Well after a few attempts of clearing history, clearing cookies and eating cookies I’ve changed my password and managed to get logged in.

After a very stressful few weeks we’ve finally moved house - there’s a lot to do but I’m getting more than 3 hours sleep a night now which is good.

Ploughing through changing addresses, doctors etc. then will hopefully be able to get the colonoscopy booked that I had to cancel before we left Halifax.

Hope everyone’s doing ok and apologies if I’ve missed any messages in my abcense

  • Hello Karen , I am so delighted to see your name pop up . I was starting to think you had felt it was the right time to move on and I get that but we would so miss your valued contributions.

Sorry about all the log in issues , it is having a very real impact for some people. But here you are !
Glad you are getting more than three hours sleep. That sounds a bit rough. Sounds as though you are going to be busy getting your new home into shape but how exciting too . Won’t be long to you start leaving your mark .

So a very big welcome back . Have a great weekend .

  • Welcome back, I'm starting to miss everyone as there are no posts nowadays!

Where are you now? Hope you get sorted soon.

  • Hi . Well we’ve moved from Halifax in West Yorkshire to Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. It’s my husbands home town and a lot nearer to work for him and it’s also where his daughter and her 2 year old daughter live so we’ll be able to see much more of them. It was difficult moving away from my parents who are in their 80s but the travelling was starting to affect my husbands health so I decided to bite the bullet and make the move.

We’ve bought a bigger house but it needs a bit (lot!) of tlc including new kitchen and bathroom. I’m focusing on the garden at the moment which has been really neglected. There’s actually some nice plants in there but also a lot of brambles and ivy. The previous owner was quite proud that she had an apple tree, a plum tree and blackberries but they’re weeds where I come from! I’ve also found some solar lights, a little rabbit ornament, a metal lizard and a hula hoop (the plastic type not the crisp!) Luckily the local recycling place has bookable slots so I’m becoming a regular with my bags of garden waste.

Looking forward to wardrobes being delivered in the middle of September then we can get a carpet down in the bedroom and some more boxes unpacked. I set the ‘big’ computer back up today so felt really proud of myself.

Hope you’re doing ok. Halifax had extra restrictions imposed before we left meaning that I can meet my parents in a park but not in their garden?! My mum is really fed up with it all and wondering if they’re being over cautious but it’s hard to know what to advise.

  • , small world as daughter goes to Lincoln university! At least, she will return at some point.Glad you have found useful employment in gardening!! Mine over some of shielding, between getting slightly better (from probable covid) and the end, was sewing scrubs. Brain was not upto anything that needed a brain, and lungs not upto physical stuff. I would have loved to get and sort my soft fruit, after enforced neglect for a couple of years, but it was not to be, very hopeful that next year will be better.

  • Hi Karen good to hear from you and glad your move went well, sounds easier than the move on the forum site..

i can get in some days and not others, I’m just trying to persevere,

you sound busy in the garden but it’s therapeutic too and lovely making a garden your own.

here is a cheers to you in your new home, May it be a happy place xx
