Good evening everyone, i received a letter from the hospital after my opp, about ,,post-operative histology, confirmed this to be a ypT3N0,could anyone explain what this means please,as i know Dr Google is not up to date with answers, i do have an appointment to see Dr in a few weeks time, so i can ask there too, but if anyone could help out in the meantime ,i would appreciate it, Thank-you x
For info: There is also a V, again either 0 no invasion, or 1 which indicates vascular invasion. This is apparently more relevant for bowel and rectal, as I was told it can be more indicative than lymph nodes, due to the nature of the cancer. I cannot remember if this was for rectal or all bowel cancers. When stated it is like T3N0 V1M0 which was mine. The V was why I got chemo.
I believe lymphatic invasion is the lymph nodes so it is different from the vascular invasion which is in the blood supply.
Hi that’s good news. I’ll just add that the yp at the beginning means that the staging has been done through histology rather than the staging that they quite often give you when diagnosed - not that you needed to know that but might be useful if anyone ever picks up on this post in the future!
