Hi
Has anyone tried the ketogenic/low carb diet ?. I read there’s some tentative research showing positive results .BUT I’ve also been told that it taxes the kidneys , and that if you’re on chemo , this also puts extra strain on the kidneys . Anyone any advice /ideas ?
thanks
chris
Hi Chris
I don't know the ketogenic/low carb diet, bur understand it is very much like the Atkins diet that I tried about 15 years ago. I did lose a bit of weight, BUT the downsize was that my cholesterol went sky high. I also put the weight back on, and more, when I stopped.
In my opinion a good diet containing both carbs and fat is what the body needs. For those like me who had surgery for colon cancer a low fibre diet is advised.
Take care,
Vicki-Lynne
