Hi all, i had my operation on Mon,4/5/20, ,the day after the Dr came round, and i got the news, my Tumour had been REMOVED ,it was a success,,i was told i would be having a stoma, so wasnt upset about waking up to find it, just sitting there waiting for me, it was going to be on the right hand side, but because my bowel was so full and out of shape, part of it had to be removed, so my stoma is now on the left side, i have been told its going to be there for a long time ,or could be permanent, i came home today ,and i am managing it quite well ,yes i was scared about going in for the operation, but with the help and support from my loved ones, and all the hospital staff who helped me,even tho they are facing a lot of other things at the mo, and to all you lovely people on here ,i got through it, and now have a new start to life again, so would like to say a big Thank-you, and to those facing operations in the future,Good Luck, if i can do it so can you ,Love and best wishes to everyone xx.

Hi nan-nan,
Just read your post and just popped on to say how very happy I am for you that your operation was a success and your tumour was removed. I also had a stoma fitted and 6 weeks on I am managed fine with it. I am eating most things apart from fruit and a lot of vegetables, but am introducing them slowly - I have even had chilli con carne (Minus the kidney beans) and a mild curry! I have joined the group on here and there is lots of fabulous advice about products and samples to try and it really helped me and hopefully will help you too.
I have just started chemo with no side effects so far apart from my output being a bit looser, but have tablets to take if it is a problem.
Hope you get on ok with it all and are healing well.
Take care and keep safe xx
