I am 3 years post poorly differentiated SCC tonsil, lymph node & tissue cancer, surgery & chemoradiation, 6 months post skin.
I am experiencing very itchy anus with blood leakage 15 to 60 minutes after passing non pain easy stools, thanks to lots of fibre.
I did have a painful cramp like pain which woke me up once a month, but this has been replaced recently with a constant dull feeling like i need to poo most of the time, and has woken me up twice recently.
I have read so many testimonials of cancer only being looked for after every other thing has been dismissed, and your in great pain and very bloody that until i hear from someone with very same symptoms, I wont go to GP.
many thanks
Hi and a warm welcome to the board from me. There are several things that can cause the symptons that you mention like haemorrhoids for example. An itchy anus is not particularly a symptom of Bowel cancer but may be caused by a yeast infection such as Candida. The anus also produces mucus to help the passage of stools which may be causing it?
The only sure way to tell that you have Bowel Cancer is by having a colonoscopy and scans. I have attached a leaflet published by Bowel Cancer uk which describes typical symptons linked to Bowel Cancer. It also includes a symptons diary page which you could maybe fill in and then have a telephone appointment with your doctor if you’re still worried.
Hope this helps
