Hey everyone i am not sure if im in the right place but i am looking for help on how to deal with my emotions my birth father went to hospital thinking he was constipated an rushed him in to op an told he has cancern i never thought i would react the way i have as he was not there for me growing up an i cant make sense of it he seems so positive bless him
Welcome to the forum . Glad you reached out to us . To be honest you just never know how this disease is going to affect you . Despite him not being there for you it’s nice you care .
Bowel cancer actually has a very favourable outcome when caught early . It could very well be that it’s contained within the bowel . They will do full scans on him and decide the best treatment approach .
My mum was a late diagnosis but continues to do well .
Hope he is recovering . It takes time to let the information sink in but we are here to help you both as you move forward with his new situation .
