Had a virtual colonoscopy today (Wednesday 22nd January ) following repetitive Diarrhoea. On the first day (Monday) had 20ml Gastrografin morning and evening which tasted a bit bitter but was OK in dilute Blackcurrant squash but later Orange squash. Did not require the toilet this day. Following morning (Tuesday) at 9.30 a.m. had virtually liquid poo. Took 2 x Gastrografin but no other visit to the toilet today. Wednesday the day of virtual colonoscopy took 1 x 20 ml Gastro. at 9.30 am as appointment at 1.20 pm. Had watery liquid poo at 11.15 a.m. Was told to take it at least 2 hours before appointment but it should have said at least 2 hours before leaving for hospital. You had a little bit of notice before each evacuation but not much. Left home at 12.20 pm and was driven to the hospital arriving at 12.50 p.m. . As not knowing what to expect in transit wore a Boots absorbent pant for any mishaps on way and home but did not need it. Inflation probe went in easily no problem. Inflation was a bit uncomfortable but just as becoming quite uncomfortable as each section was inflated it stopped. Scanned on each side and on back. Over in 20 mins, dressed and having free tea in café shortly. Hope this answers any questions which you may have but remember each person may have different experiences. Had expected to live near the toilet each day but fears unfounded.
Had the result tonight and I am clear despite ticking many of the boxes on the internet. Discovered by chance as a result of my food taking over the proceedings that the Blood Sugar is very low near hypo level at 5am in the morning. Have adjusted my diet and have eliminated my atrial fibrillation. Just Googled Does low blood sugar cause A-Fib and the answer was yes ! . Many things cause A-fib so not a cureall.
Brilliant news . So glad you have been able to sort out your health issues .
Enjoy the good news ,
take care ,
