Seen consultant at Papworth on monday the nodules are round no biopsy going in for vats wedges they still not saying secondary but it must be. Consultant did say they look like bowel mets.
Consultant said lymp nodes are fine so now I confused how can bowel mets get to lung without lymp node involvement.
Had pre op yesterday now waiting for op date asked about mop up chemo but they couldn't comment and it will be down to oncology.
Feel like I keep going in rewind
Bud xxxx
Hi Bud ,
Great to heat the lymph nodes are fine . That’s positive . My mum’s were like that and has had no further issues . If I remember right the lung surgeon said that some cells break off and can be carried in the blood stream and lodge in the lungs . Now they have shown their face they can be dealt with . The surgeon also told my mum that there was a chance it was benign but better to err on the side of caution when they are small and easier to remove .
We are not sure if my mum ever had lymph node involvement. Around her bowel they were enlarged but that could have been reactionary. She had chemo first and after surgery there were no active cells in any of her nodes .
From pre op to surgery was ten days for my mum .
Hope it all goes well .
take care ,

Hi Bud,
You are in my thoughts. At least things are happening now and you are on the path to treatment. You are nearly at the end of the awful waiting. Will the wedge resections get all of the nodules?
Still waiting for a rescan in March here as mine are too deep for biopsying so I might need a bigger op to get at them if they keep growing.
Good luck although you won't need it as it sounds like they are on top of it and they have caught them small
Hi nicky
Thankyou for your reply yeah as I have 1 upper lobe nodule 1 lower lobe nodule they going to do 2 wedges then they will be out.
Hope you are okay hopefully we may get of this roller-coaster soon xxxx
