It is always good to see people moving forward with their lives but even better when they pop by and let us know how they are .

So to all our old friends out there please feel free to say “ Hi “ and let us know how you are .

  • Hi Court

I has my surgery just over 3 weeks ago now, and have just seen my surgeon. He’s very confident that he got all of the cancer, so I won’t need chemotherapy. I’ve been incredibly lucky in how quickly I am healing and recovering in general. I started driving again, although only very short local journeys in order to walk my dogs. My dog walker lasted a whole week! I hope everyone out there is doing well.

  • Such good news . Such an inspiration to others reading this who are just facing surgery.

You do sound as though your healing quickly . Great to hear your out again with your dogs . My sister has just bought a puppy so I am learning just how much work they can be and lots of fun too .

I am so pleased to hear you don’t need further treatment . What a peace of mind to know it’s caught early .

    Keep healing .

    take care ,

  • Hi everyone

So I’ve been to the hospital for my 3 year follow up with the surgeon to find that he’s off sick and the consultant that they’ve found to cover his clinic isn’t available for another hour then he’ll start on the earlier appointments first. So I’ve come back home and they’ll contact me with a new appointment - I think the surgeons trying to avoid me really!

Anyway the good news is that my CEA is still 1 so I’m hoping that that’s a good indication that I’m still cancer free 3 years since my surgery.

Hope everyone else is doing ok - please post and let us all know?

    Take care

    Hi Karen

My CEA has been gradually rising - 1.1 in March, 1.2 in June, 1.4 in September, 1.7 in October... so I had my 2 year scan early in October (was due December). It was clear. I’ve just had a flexible sigmoidoscopy which was also clear and my CEA is just down to 1.5 - so looking like I’m two years clear. Phew.

if your CEA is only 1 I’d say you’re fine! Anna x

  • Phew indeed . Delighted to hear all was clear . Reaching the two year mark is a big one . Such good news .

Hope everything is going well with you .

    Hi Anna

That is brilliant news -I’m so pleased for you and it’s also reassuring for others to read. My hospital doesn’t define it if it’s under 1 so when it went from under 1 to 1 I had a bit of a thought but then realised it could have gone from 0.9 to 1.0 which is nothing!

    Onwards and upwards
