I had a colonoscopy earlier this week, after spending a good number of months back and forth from the GP with various symptoms.
They found a 3.5cm polyp which will have to be removed. The consultant seemed pretty sure it isn’t cancerous, but I suppose until they take it out and test nothing is sure.
He took some biopsies and when I called today to ask how long I might have to wait for the results I was told 6-8 weeks (after which another appointment will be scheduled). It feels like a really long time, is it normal to wait that long?
Hi I had four biopsies and I was told a 4 to 6 week wait for results. They are classed as non urgent I think if they are not worried about them. I assume that different health trusts vary slightly according to workload and backlogs. Yes the waiting bit is awful
