Not been on for a few days, but now feeling nervous & anxious ,as i have an appointment to see Dr at hospital ,to hear the results of the tests i had done, dont know whats in store or what to expect, i have a friend coming with me ,so at least i have a hand to hold, just dreading whats going to happen,i know you have all been in this situation at some point, and its a help to read all your stories, all the support from you is sound advice to us 1st timers, and im glad to have found this group, it does help so Thank-you x.
It is scary for sure but they are very kind to you . It’s normally a busy clinic but certainly for my mum after briefly asking after her well being move quickly to results so she can relax a bit . They go over the findings and proposals of treatment .
I think the thing to remember is bowel cancer is fortunate with regards to having many treatments available. They have taken such good care of my mum over the last ten years . We certainly have a dept we could never pay back .
You will get through this one way or another and I think everyone here is probably in the “ other “ category . A bit shaking when going through it . Just keep in mind they will always have a plan for you to help you . Chemo itself turn my mum from inoperable to operable twice . They have great resources .
I hope it’s all very straightforward for you .
Remember you can also call our helpline 0808 808 0000 to chat it through with them too .
take special care ,

Thank-you for your reply,i have questions to ask when i go to hospital, its just wondering what the answers will be, thats the hardest part, but the support on here will get me through this, i am a fighter, and fought back after having a stroke, im so pleased your Mum had all the help she needed, sending hugs to you x.
You certainly will fight this and we are here to help you do just that . Recovery from a stroke can be tough . I used to be an OT so had a bit of experience but my dad also had one but is doing well .
I think with the stroke this episode happens then you start rehab . Where with the cancer diagnosis being reliant on scans it takes longer to get the information you need before you can start going forward . So much waiting and unknowns .
But you have a strong mindset and as my mum always says best foot forward .
She was telling me yesterday that she will never have a test for dementia . It really scares her ! You would think the scans would do the same !
Take care ,
