Had my results today from my 1st year ct scan.
Ct showed a 9 mm and 10mm marks on left lung they not saying it secondary bowel cancer but am being referred for pet scan.

Hi so sorry to hear you have not received great results today . I too have had a similar experience today.
My way of coping right now is trying to take each step and each day at a time. I also think no one never knows what is around the corner in life but today we are here. Someone on here said focus your mind on where you body is in the moment , which has helped me.
I’m not saying this is easy all the time and I have moments and just cry because it all hits me as my mind has wandered off beyond today.
Hope this may help
Thinking of you xx
Hi Bud ,
It most definitely can’t be classified as cancer at the moment. The lungs are notoriously bad for having nodules. In any other situation they would not think twice about them . In a person with a history of cancer they get the gold standard of care to make sure all is well .
My mum had three lung nodules , two were benign and one of them was 7 mm . They have been there for four years . One was cancerous and was removed surgically at 8 mm . The surgery was much easier than bowel surgery and she was home two days later . She did not require further treatment. That was four years ago this winter and she has not had more issues to date .
Scans are the safety net here and what has been picked up is very small . They would be all over this very quickly if it was something and back on with your life . Radiotherapy is giving surgeons a run for there money when it comes to successfully treating the lungs .
It is most certainly something they want to check for your safety but that is all at this stage and certainly at this size they would have many options and I only say that to reassure you . This requires attention but that is all .
However the whole process of keeping you physically well hits you on the mental health front so we are completely here for you to support you through this situation . Have you had any colds recently ?
Take care and remember so many of these things are benign.
take care ,

Hi court.
Thankyou for your advise I have had no colds or anything but since my bowel surgery In August 18 I have had comoxiclav antobotics on and of up until 2 weeks ago due to perianal wound infection.
My histology report from Apr surgery was Exellent margins and 17 clear lymp nodes so no further treatment was needed.
Think yesterday I was looking forward to consultant saying perinual wound doing very well and ct scan clear so I could move on with my life.
Will keep you informed

Hi Bud
I know what you mean about being knotted up inside. I have just had my 2 year CT results over the phone and my lung nodule (Noddy) has grown again and is now 7mm. I am being discussed at the next MDT meeting on Monday and they will decide whether to give me a PET scan or rescan in 3 months time. I would prefer the former so I know the worst rather than having it hang over me for another 3 months. I have spent so much time 'waiting' that sometimes I just want to scream with frustration. My fingers are crossed for you Bud and as court says, it is very treatable at this early stage if it is a nasty.
It is so hard to live in the moment and not let your imagination run away with you
Nicky
Hi
Thinking about you . They gave my mum a PET scan at around that size . I need to look back at the details . But it was removed at around 8 mm with absolutely no issues afterwards and compared to the other resections it was a two day hospital stay and she was mobile the next day .
I really hope there is a quick response to this and will have zero uptake on the PET scan .
Take care ,
