Hello everyone ,
This thought runs through my head frequently but today I thought I would actually say it . I totally understand why people who have endured treatment need to move on from a support site but for those who stay and lift up other people with emotional support and meaningful insights from their own patient experiences to me is amazing . You can really see people strengthen from your insights and most importantly reduces fears . Only you can do that .
Having gone through so much yet still give to others is amazing . Thank you all .
Court
Hi court
i applaud you court too for staying, you welcomed me, you have supported, you have given encouragement, and I agree you and others like you are all amazing and help so much when we start the journey I too say thank you to all of you and you all know who you are I won’t name you all xxx
Hi Court,
What a lovely post! I went through my treatment in 2012, and took most of 2013 to recover before finally being given the all-clear 2 years ago. It never crossed my mind to leave the groups that I belong to, as I think it's important to want to and be able to encourage those who are just about to start their treatment, and give them hope that we can and do beat cancer. Whilst I am cancer-free, I will live with the effects of life-changing surgery as I was gifted a permanent stoma. This isn't a daily reminder of my treatment, but it is a reminder that I had and still have a wonderful support team around me. And THAT is definitely reassuring!

Phew I thought you were hanging up your keyboard for a moment court! I totally agree that everyone on this board deserves a huge pat on the back and Thankyou. It doesn’t matter how long people have been here for as every post is important - I’m sure there’s probably a lot of people who just read but don’t post and think ‘oh yes, I was wondering that.’
I would like to send a big Thankyou back to you Court as you bring huge support and reassurance not only to people supporting someone but also with your knowledge of stage 4 treatment and mets.
Time for a group hug I think
