You may rest assured, there will be no shortage of people willing to offer help, advice, and sympathy! Any questions you have, no matter how trivial they may seem, or how embarrassing, you will find those willing to assist. Cancer is a very scary word, and colorectal cancer comes with additional factors, such as embarrassment talking about certain related matters. I think it is pretty hard to shock or offend most people reading this forum, as far as that aspect is concerned. Ask what you will!
Robin.
Hi @Lakita and a warm welcome to the board from me. I’ve a couple of pieces of advice -
Do not google! The advice is scary and out of date - stay on here and ask anything you like - as Robin says there is no question too daft or embarrassing!
Size does not matter! Just because it is a huge tumour does not mean it is more serious than a small tumour. You will have scans which will give the consultant an idea of how far it has grown into the Bowel wall and your course of treatment will be decided in the MDT (multi-disciplinary meeting) with other specialists in the various fields.
This waiting for scan results and meetings is very stressful but once you have a treatment plan in place then things will feel a little better.
Ive attached a copy of a booklet which I was given by the support nurses after my meeting which will give you an idea of potential treatments

We’re all at various stages of treatment or recovery on this board and, if you click on people’s names, then it will take you to their profile page which often details the treatment that they have had.
Please let us know how you’re getting on
Take care
