Hi all Sun with face

Hope you are all well?

I was diagnosed in 2015 with rectal cancer and have had Short term radiotherapy STR, a LAR and 7 months of chemo.

I had a review with the colorectal nurse yesterday and I had requested some more information about my histology report regarding where the lymph node was found and about my EMVI.

Does anyone know anything about the significance of a lymph node on the Mesorectum?

Best wishes Sunglasses

  • So good to hear from you . How is life treating you ?

From the research I looked at it has favourable outcomes with low  incidents of recurrence when surgically removed . Is that the same as what you have reviewed or am I reading it wrong ?

Hope everything is going well for you ,

  • From my understanding the complete removal of the mesorectum and associated lymph nodes is " the gold standard"

Thanks for the info. That's very encouraging. I never knew which lymph node was affected till recently. Info available seems to differ in different areas.

    Hi Dom

    Thanks Thumbsup

I still feel worried that I wasn't allowed the chemo-radiotherapy prior to my op Rolling eyes  but thanks that's good news as the surgeon said I had gold standard surgery, LAR and a total mesorectal excision.

Have a good weekend and Sunglasses
