Morning lovelies and hope you're enjoying the sunshine!

This is wide question but here goes.  So my dad is still awaiting a yes or no for his surgery.  It's been almost 5 weeks since his final chemo cycle ended and he's had some great, great days.  The last week though he's had diarrhea.  We don't know if it was set off my one of those innocent revitalising drinks with flax (he has a stoma) or that in fact he had a slight bug.  Anyhow he's hardly eaten and has-been watching himself.  He's also started to feel sickly and tired again.

Im praying he can have surgery.  His scan was about 10 days ago now.  He has also said he can feel the tumor has grown back and the pain has restarted there also.

Does anyone else have any experiences of what happend to them when they stopped their treatment?

Any ideas of what we can expect?

I know everyone is different ... It's a very wide question I know.

Thanks all and hope you manage to get outside see some small birds and marvel at something amazing today.

Love to you all

  • Hi Welliejam ,

This beautiful weather has just been fantastic. So therapeutic.

Just another aspect to consider . When the tumour shrinks it has scar tissue at the sight that can also be painful . We thought my mum was in the throws of the tumour regrowing only to find it was tumour encapsulation where it pulls and is irritated. I am obviously not medical but thought I would share . The other aspect is the whole digestive track is hammered with chemo and again easily irritated. I would not draw conclusions although I totally get it and did the same myself .

It is so hard waiting on the scan results and when things present as they previously did you can understand why . But if he has a specialist nurse you could raise your concern with them .

    Take care ,
