Hello everyone!
I haven’t been here as much recently because my job has gotten busy. But I am coming up on the one year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis and I am feeling anxious.
I have to call and schedule a colonoscopy and I am dreading it. I had my first colonoscopy last April, then another one last December (which was clear, thank God) and now I am supposed to have a third. I am in the US, by the way.
I’m grateful that the doctors are keeping a close eye on me, but I am nervous about what they might find and I hate the colonoscopy preparation with a passion.
I am also still coping with a more limited diet after undergoing LAR surgery. I have to limit raw fruits and vegetables, even though well-meaning friends keep encouraging me to eat more broccoli and Brussels Sprouts!
Anyway, I appreciate everyone on this site. Thank you all for being here.

Hi understanding that you would be anxious, but pleased to hear you are a year on, mynhbby is ta the start of the journey.
you have come this far, embrace the anxiety, acknowledge it and let it go........
you sound well adjusted to your new diet, always sounds encouraging for those. Just starting out that it is doable.
my best wishes to you for a positive outcome
and Happy Easter xx
Lovely to hear from you Natasha. Sounds as though they are taking good care of you but totally understandable that anniversaries and procedures bring anxiety with them .
You have done incredibly well and part of me is amazed how quickly that time has gone in .
I will be thinking of you as you and hope to hear good news .
Take care,
Court

Hi ,
Sounds like a similar situation that I am in. I am about 10 months from diagnosis, with a colonoscopy due in the next month and CT scan by the end of June. Also a little nervous, but I like to think that it is more related to the bowel prep than anything else... industrial strength laxatives and not eating for more than a day... just the thought makes me shudder!
I am sure everything will go well, though. All the best for the upcoming tests.
