I am after some advise so i apoligise if iam in the wrong place.
I am 33 years old for the past 3+ years have been experiencing loose bowels cramps and other symptoms including passing blood. The last 4 week my symptoms have increased 10 fold i am getting severe back pain, cramps, flat stools, loose stools and am constantly tired.(not like me). I have been the doctors to have bloods done for chromes and ibs and all came back fine i am worried it is something a little more serious.
I am waiting for an appointment for the cameras in my bowels and down my throat has anyone any idea how long this appointment will take to arrive and do my symptoms sound like bowel cancer.
Hope that is enough information.
Thanks
Hi PaulID85
These appointments happen very quickly you will be seen by a specialist first before the camera , if you are fast tracked its within a few days , I would have thought your doctor has fast tracked you
Hi Paul
Bowel cancer symptoms seem to vary hugely from person to person from very little (cancer found while looking at other issues) to full blown blockages. I just had slightly more loose windy bowel movements for 6 months and an unexpected rectal bleed not linked to a bowel movement which made me go to my Dr. I was referred under the 2 week rule which means that you get seen within two weeks and the colonoscopy gets arranged within days. Do you know if you have been referred under that scheme? I was given a fact sheet to explain how it works to take away with me by my GP after my initial visit. Otherwise everything takes a little longer to arrange.
There are also tons of other bowel diseases all of which have many of the symptoms that you describe so I would say it is impossible to say if your symptoms could be bowel cancer related even if I was allowed to (which I am not) given that we are a happy bunch of amateur cancer sufferers with only our own symptoms to go on. I just hope that this awful waiting period is over quickly for you. The first few weeks are horrendous until you get your results. All I can say is that many post here in your position and the majority of them are not cancer so I suspect that the odds are on your side. I wish you good luck with your tests.
Nicky
