Hello everyone, have been to hospital today and they have taken the plaster that I have had on my foot for 2 weeks off. I was so happy. The Orthopaedic doctor was concerned on the healing process because of the cancer so, I have to go back in 4 weeks. I have to wear this boot that has 2 pump up points on either side of boot. When I take it off at night I have 2 deflated buttons. I have taken a photo of if ,so I can get it right when I put it back on in the morning !!

It made such a change to have good news like me having plaster off. It certainly will be easier for me now. Mind you the strain on other muscles going up and down stairs like a toddler has been horrible.

Hi Duckadilly,

Well done on having the plaster removed - it must feel nice to be rid of it. I’ve never had a plaster but I’ve been told that it’s awkward when you have an itch!

Hi Ruby I hope you also had a lovely xmas. Oh so much easier now they have put this boot on my foot. !!

Also I don't have to inject myself with anti-clotting drug.Just this simple change has made me feel so much better. Where in London are you ?

Hiya,

It’s great to hear how much better this has made you feel - in the workplace, I genuinely liked the idea of ‘quick wins’, i.e. you might have pile of things to do, but just getting something done can make you feel you’re getting somewhere and in this case, you can feel positive and more comfortable.

Yes, I had a lovely Christmas Day thanks - I am a rubbish cook and we went to my sister in law’s for lunch. She is a fab cook! We played party games after and then opened presents. Growing up, we would open the sack left at the end of our beds and the main presents were always after a late lunch so late present opening is something I’m used to.

I am a Londoner by birth, born in the Royal Free Hospital, but now live in Hampshire.

The Royal free is where my oncologist and cardiologists are . I have my PETSCANS there. The Royal Free is now in Hampstead. I am now based in Potters Bar and fortunately they have clinics in Barnet hospital and Chase Farm hospital (Enfield ). So I don't have to go to Hampstead too often as parking there is a right nightmare. !!!

My next Petscan is in February and I am dreading it as I have developed a phobia and start having panic attacks in any type of scan machine now. I' m going to get something off of the GP to calm me down. I worry off and on for a couple of months. I had a chest CT in November and climbed out of it backways . I feel such a fool but there you go. I lived in Hampshire for a small time ,a place called Horndean my brother lives in a place called Hartley Witney. HantsAll the best for the New Year. !!! Enjoy yourself. !! Xxx
