I’ve had lower back pain for the past month. The last few days I’ve had some tingling in my arms and legs so today I have e mailed our useless health centre.I have asked to speak to someone so fingers crossed I can talk to a dr.Has anyone else had spinal pain ? I’ve got arthritis in both hips so perhaps it’s in my spine.I’m hoping I can get an x Ray or a scan to see what’s going on.Love to you all Jane x
Hi Denby,How stressful for you both.I feel guilty for not having seen Mum for ages.My sister’s boss has got shingles so Sarah is having to work extra days.John is not feeling that well with colitis so I’m not sure when I will get over to the home.If it was nearer I could probably manage public transport but it’s an awkward place to get to.I hope you can get some where with the care agency.Love Jane x
Thanks Inanna,Hopefully I can get some answers or more tests.Love Jane x
Hi,The gp rung this morning. It turns out that the Bence Jones test was ok and it was another urinary protein that was raised. The doctor is going to speak to a colleague about that and get back to me if I need further tests. The back x ray showed a reduction in height/reduced cartilage in the lumbar vertebrae.I have an appointment with the physio on Thursday.I’m relieved that I don’t have myeloma as that was a concern.Love to all Jane x
Hi Jane, glad to hear it was a reassuring consultation. After my spinal fusion op I lost 3 inches in height. I hadn't even noticed until a nurse told me I was 5 foot 2 when I had been 5 foot 5 all my life. I was horrified. Sounds like your lumber vertebrae are squashing each other which explains the pain. Really hope the physio can help. Thank goodness it's not any kind of nasty C word, sincerely hope that's a thing of the past for you. Sending hugs xx
Thanks H,The arthritis is in all of the lumbar vertebrae and there are bony changes.Poor mum lost several inches in height due to severe arthritis.I was 5’7 but have shrunk a little bit.My sister also has it in her spine.Hopefully the physio can help.Love Jane x
