I’ve had lower back pain for the past month. The last few days I’ve had some tingling in my arms and legs so today I have e mailed our useless health centre.I have asked to speak to someone so fingers crossed I can talk to a dr.Has anyone else had spinal pain ? I’ve got arthritis in both hips so perhaps it’s in my spine.I’m hoping I can get an x Ray or a scan to see what’s going on.Love to you all Jane x

  • Hope this gets sorted Jane xx maybe you enjoy been overdoing it in the garden xx Alan Titchmarsh to the rescue lol take care xxlove Tina

  • Hi Tina,I’m not sure what I’ve done but it’s painful.I haven’t been doing much in the garden lately so I may have pulled something indoors. It’s easy to overdo it moving stuff alone.Hope all is well with you ? Xxx

  • Hi Jane, sorry to hear this. Do you get regular DEXA scans for osteoporosis? If not I would be insisting on one. If your spine is crushing slightly due to osteoporosis it could account for the pain. And if anyone wants you to take calcium supplements, if at all possible buy your own as calcium carbonate whish the NHS dish out is not well absorbed compared to calcium citrate. And only the Vitamin D supplements that also have Vit K added will best ensure the extra calcium ends up where you want it in the bones, not causing adverse calcification of soft tissues.

Other than this can you get to see a chiropractor? They tend to be good at freeing trapped nerves which few NHS professionals of any stripe have the training to achieve.

  • Hi Denby,The nurse practitioner rung not long ago.She asked a few questions and I’m booked in tomorrow for blood tests, check for calcium levels etc. They have also made an appointment for next week so I can be assessed by a muscular skeletal person.I’ve never had a scan for osteoporosis.I’ll see what happens after the assessment.I have seen the chiropractor in the past.I find osteopathy a bit gentler.I hope all is well with you  both ? Love Jane x

  • Hi Jane sorry I haven’t been on for quite a while I have been experiencing the tingling since I had my first turbt way back in November last year  they assured me it’s nothing to do with the bladderThumbsupancer and I have finally got appointment on 8th October to see neurologist I will let you know what they say hope everything ok for you Thumbsup

  • Hi Jghftm1,I hope you get on well when you see the neurologist.I may have put something out moving furniture a month ago.I’ll just have to see what the tests show.Jane x

  • These aches and pains can come on us for no reason can't they xx I'm ok had my last first  maintenance bcg on Sept 1st worse one so far but eased off following day ..to be expected I suppose as most seem to say it gets worse as they go on ..I have had my date for next round they start on Nov 24th so I have a nice break for now xx hope your back will soon be better love Tina xx

  • Hi Tina,Glad you get a little break from treatment.X

    • Not long back from having blood taken. On the way out another nurse stopped and asked whether I wanted to have a flu jab.I thought I might as well get it over and done with. The nurse remembered taking my stitches out after the cystectomy,I haven’t seen her since then so we had a quick chat. She couldn’t believe that was nearly 2 years ago.I was so grateful for the lift from John,my back is so painful I don’t think I could have walked there and back.It was easier when the health centre was in town but they built a new one on a trading estate and it’s a horrible walk along the main road.Love to you all Jane x
  • Hi Jane, glad you finally got your appointment.  Hope all goes well for you.  I sometimes get pins & needles in my feet after TURBT, & in my face.  I've had an MRI scan but they say it's OK & just age related Unamused.  I've since discovered that (I think anyway) it's caused by stress.  Take it easy now xxx
