I finished my course of BCG on Dec 21st and have been offered the Covid vaccine on this Friday.
Does anyone know if there should be a gap between the BCG and the vaccine; if so, how long should the gap be? I will try to contact my CNS tomorrow but they don't always reply that quickly.
Gandalf.
Hi Gandalf, I would like to know this too. I start my next 3 maintenance doses next week.. I will ring my CNS tomorrow. She is usually brilliant at responding. Sending best wishes x
I got a reply from my CNS. I can go ahead with my Covid vaccine, which is good news.
Gandulf.
My CNS was unavailable but other urology nurses thought there were no contraindications for BCG, chemo or immunotherapy. They think patients should take it as soon as offered but they said they would check. I read on an international bladder cancer website that in USA they seem to be advising 2 weeks gap. I think that's about how long it will be for you Gandulf so looks like you are all set to go. Brilliant x
I looked up the Green Book and it seems as if there are no contraindications for BCG.
Gandulf.
I had the jab last Friday. No ill effects other than a sore arm where the needle went in. The nurse said that was the only effects people had mentioned. Now wait for it to kick in.
