Just back from the hospital and result was not what I hoped for.

Cystoscopist saw new growths/damage but couldn't be sure whether they were cancerous or not. She's taken a photo and will let the consultant have a look. I will either get a letter for the maintenance doses or one for another rigid to get biopsies depending on what he decides.

Not the Christmas present I was hoping for.

  • Hey Mugwump. That must be so disappointing and lousy timing as well. We do know that sometimes these things just turn out to be residual damage so fingers crossed for you. Try and enjoy Christmas. Best wishes to you and yours.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hi Mugwump,I am sorry to hear this.I hope that you don’t have to wait too long to find out what it is.Fingers crossed that it is damage rather than cancer.Love & best wishes.Jane xx

  • This mirrors the last time I was in the Endoscopy suite on NYs eve last year for a flexi. That one resulted in 2 rigid, another flexi and a dx of CIS rather than the G2pTa that I started with.

Maybe the Endoscopy suite is jinxed?

  • Hi Mugwump, rotten news. I know how that feels Disappointed I hope you can push anxiety to back of your mind. Easier said than done but worry never made anything better x  In my case I know multidisciplinary team meets on a Friday morning so feedback is never available till afterwards. However I can then phone my CNS for news rather than waiting for a letter. Do you have a supportive CNS? Sending hugs Hx

  • Aaaaw Mugwump!  I've just had good news as the cancer's stayed the same, but they did say that they thought it was a different cancer & it wasn't.  I do hope that you can get some good news too, & you don't have to wait too long for it. I'll get the beers in whilst we all wait with you x

  • She's not very supportive. I can't get hold of her most of the time and I'm lucky if she replies to emails.

If I haven't heard anything by the end of the festive period then I'll start badgering my consultants secretary and the urology manager. Chasing those two normally gets a result.

  • Fingers crossed Martyn  that it is only damage. It’s a pity you can’t get a phone call with a decision rather than waiting for a letter, the waiting is the worst bit.

    Best wishes Luce x

  • Hi , so sorry to hear this and while there is no good time to get such news it must be particularly hard at this time of year.  I sincerely hope some encouraging news comes when the consultant has reviewed and that you can manage as best as possible to have some semblance of an enjoyable Christmas.

    Best Wishes

  • Sorry to hear but Mr W had a similar experience and a rigid found it was damage from bcg Fingers crossed for you

    best wishes

  • Had an answer from my CNS.

My consultant was on leave before Xmas and then sick between Xmas + NY. He only came back this week and my file is on his desk.

If biopsies needed then it's 4-6 weeks due to waiting lists

If BCG goes ahead then it will be mid - Feb.
