Hi all,This time last year I was in the operating theatre. It has been a stressful year and is tougher now Mum is deteriorating rapidly. But despite the setbacks I am so grateful to my surgeon.I hope you are all as well as you can be.Love and best wishes.Jane xx

  • Well done you for getting through all the challenges of the last twelve months so bravely. Hopefully your physical strength and stamina will continue to flourish in the next twelve. So sorry to hear about your mum's deterioration but of course it is in the nature of things as we age. Hope your sister is still able to support, and you are able to enjoy some time with John. Sending you love Hx

  • Thanks H,I was remarkably calm on op day but inside I was frightened.Leaving John to go to the theatre was the scariest part.He has always provided such emotional support.Sarah has been helping out with mum when she is not working. It is very hard work though and at the weekend I really struggled.I have contacted social services and Mum may have to go back to the care home.Unfortunately there is no ideal solution to our situation.Love Jane xx

  • A whole year - I can hardly believe it. You have certainly had a tough time. Life is full of compromises & trying to make the best of bad situations. Hope you can at least get an acceptable outcome.

  • I can hardly believe it either. The time has flown in some ways.It has been a rollercoaster recovery but this community has helped enormously.love Jane xx

  • ..and you've been a lot of help and support to many of the rest of us, we appreciate it. Happy Birthday as it were! Denby

Hi Jane, it certainly doesn’t seem like 12 months since your operation. What a year you’ve had with recovering from your operation, looking after your mum and Covid restrictions. I do hope you can get some support soon.

    love Luce x

Wow a year gone it has been such a strange year as well for everyone I am glad you are doing well but sorry about your mum. My dad is also back in hospital with a bad water infection he is so confused . It will be a year in November since I was first diagnosed with the cancer ironically it was on Remembrance Day what a strange day that was it all took a while to sink in . Take care love Liz xx

  • Same here, just glad it was happening. Three years ago and going strong.

It doesn't matter where you go, there you are
  • Well done Winkers60, this year does seem to have passed quickly. Lets hope next year is good for us all.

You have to look out for yourself and stay in good health, do whatever it takes. best wishes.
