I am due my next cystoscopy on 3rd September. It was booked when I had my last one in March before the Covid situation took hold. I never get any paperwork and just normally turn up.
My husband is also going the week after for a cystoscopy in relation to late effects of radiotherapy. His letter didn’t mention anything about the Covid situation, self isolation etc which surprised me.
Obviously I intend to ring the hospital about it but wondered what precautions, if any, others had to take beforehand.

Hi Luce, I've had covid tests twice 3 days ahead of attending hospital for cystoscopy and then BCG doses. Temperature taken at door on arrival.
Hi Luce. I had my flexi a few weeks ago. No previous instructions of Covid precautions. Just turned up. Had to wear a mask and had my temp taken on entry. That was it. Reading many posts, it seems different hospitals have different protocols. Best wishes.
Hello Luce
Last Friday I called waiting list office and managed to get a cancellation for flexible cystoscopy for Monday. I had to get a Covid test on Saturday at local hospital. When I arrived with face mask on the Monday my temperature and BP taken. After the procedure given all clear. Good luck Garviv

Hi Luce
I've been a few times for various tests & they have security on the door, no one is allowed in with you unless it's a carer, they squirt your hands with that stuff that makes them itch, tell you to cover up but then ask you to remove your mask for one of theirs, ask questions about a cough, high temperature, & lack of taste or smell, then you're ready for your tests or whatever.
Good luck to you & MrL Luce xxx
Don't know what was going on with no masks, maybe they were exempt due to asthma etc??
Have just come back from a very unsafe feeling first visit to a pub. Having waved off family after a lovely safe birthday picnic out doors, felt the need for a cuppa and sit down before 40-min drive home [I have a sore ankle atm]. At 6 on a Sunday the only place was a pub. Oh dear. No social distancing despite all the proper set-up with tape on floor, notices galore, screens on bar. Drunk people approaching us and others despite best attempts to steer clear [you can't back up fast on crutches...]. Had to go to bar and ASK for contact name and number to be written down in case. Shan't go to a pub again. Have no trust at all that any of those people would bother to tell Track and Trace they had been in the Red Lion even if they got sick, never mind 'merely' tested positive.
Government certainly do need to shut the pubs if they are are going to prevent a monster second wave of Covid. Also someone sensible pointed out to me earlier that the isolating may well mean people have not built up their usual immunity to milder things, which will also then cause trouble when the weather gets wintry.
Must go and make some tea to cheer myself up....join me in spirit, eh?

I'm replying to your question you asked me on the forum "tec chnges post" as on that post i can't find a reply thingy. Yes i did get a verification code but it made no difference i still couldnt log in. Also said site not found, didn't take long for me to give up.
I had a flexi scope 2 weeks ago and wasn't asked to take any precautions, at the hospital entrance a chap asked the time of my appt and of i went with my mask on. That was it. Obvs had to go by my self. Good luck x
Hi sueCC, I think discussion on the new tech changes was closed down by the Macmillan IT team!! Clearly our views did not please. I had the same experience as you and then CB's second crack at starting another tech changes discussion was closed. It did seem rather authoritative, like we were naughty children.
