Theres a lot playing on my mind before first scan. I see a lipid consultant for high cholesterol and the last few appointments have indicated high bilirubin levels in liver, so i cant help but think the bladder cancer is effecting other areas. Also inflammation found.
Hi zxcv. It is not unusual to think cancer has affected other areas. The normal aches and pains of regular life are something we would normally dismiss and not give them a second though. With a cancer diagnosis we tend to notice these things more, thinking something is going on, but generally turn out to be nothing. In most cases, bladder cancer is confined to the bladder. The scan itself is easy and painless. You will not get any information on the day. The scans are sent to be analysed and you get results a couple of weeks later. As regards your upcoming TURBT, you should have a pre op assessment and this gives you a good idea of your general health. Best wishes.
Thanks so much for a quick response. Its really kind of you. The scan is tomorrow so i'll get that out the way. Cheers!
