I posted a couple of weeks ago. I've noted today a member here John had his review with great results and he has been disacharged after 8/9 yrs back to GP
I'm due a review this month, I was diagnosed around June 2017, now 9 monthly reviews.
I've chased the hsopital, my mp a pile of ..... that is busy on twitter bigging itself up re other stuff but wont answer my emails, twitter other than one email last week saying she is very busy.
I have been chasing the hospital within the Lweisham, Greenwich NHS Trsut and a nice lady rang up today that runs the depts and they have requested safety for staff and patients and awaiting response from PHE. The PHE lot are a pile of ...IMO. Estimated time before reviews start they reckon will be late June it could be a while after that. Importantly and rightly so, those waiting since early April will get first appts. The hspt is doing checks re new urgent cases in various ways.
Like most i worry about review, cystoscopy being delayed - how do i find out if any hospital are doing this but I am aware I will need a new referral so possibly back to square one .I have checked private hospital prices for the flexible cystoscopy and they range from about 1700 to 3k which is out of my league.
I had the lower grade thong in the bladder and it was removed on the initial check via flexible cystoscopy. I've had several reviews all goo and one was due this month - but i fear i may not get one until early september over a year later. Any suggestions please?
Btw, I am aware new cases take lead and people are in a worse place than me and we, I fear visiting the hospital.
The lady that rang me was nice she gave me her number should my circumstances change re bladder.
Hi gooluckall. There appears to be a bit of a post code lottery going on at the moment. I am due for a flexi check, but am told all my local urology clinics are still closed. Reading on here, some people are still having checks and some treatments in other areas. Hope you are good. Best wishes.
Dear rily,
Many thanks as always.
London is a bombsite and most people fear going to the hspts. Things improving but worry is there but
thank you for the info and kind words.
I was due my cystoscope last month, I’ve been having them every 6 months, last one I was told I’d be moved to yearly, I asked if I could have one in 9 months and was told ok so that would have been April, it now looks like it’ll be a year at least. I phoned up and was told I’d been referred!! What does that mean I wonder?. Anyhow I’ve been over 7 years clear after having only 15 BCG as there was a world shortage of it at the time. Grade 3 pt . I’ll phone up again next month if I haven’t heard anything. Good luck everyone in this scary time x
Hi Sue. I am in a similar position to you, due for a flexi several years down the line. As I have mentioned earlier my clinics are closed, so no idea when I will get a check. As usual, as you near these checks, the worrying pains and niggles kick in . When things start to open up again there will be a huge backlog. No idea how things will pan out, but I hope we all come through this. Best wishes.
Hi Sue, I was due mine 27th March (cancelled two days before) and no word from them yet. I haven't phoned yet since my hospital North Devon District are usually spot on efficient. But I really hope it won't be too long. I've already had two reoccurrences and saving grace is frequent monitoring. Same for us all I know. Sending love x
I was supposed to be admitted in mid March for my usual 6 month Rigid Cysto as I've had recurrence since 2012, but I cancelled it myself. I've been urgently referred, but so have a lot of other people so I'm not expecting to get an appointment any time soon with the virus. We just have to wait I suppose. Although I heard that some of the private hospitals are doing some op's .... but it didn't say which.
Thank you all. I blame PHE and management as I am aware that doctors, etc are being sent home to study, etc as theaters are not available and covid numbers are going down. What the hold up is of my understanding is PPE for staff to carry out ops, reviews and departments are waiting as always to hear from the jokers..
Numbers of Covid down big time thankfully in London and hope it stays that way but I doubt it with usual standard Mayor of London banging on about dont use trains, tube beses unless it's essential of course it's bloody essential when workers have been asked to come into work along with all of the front linke staff in hosptials, etc. Parking restrictions remain in london and I think only about 10% of tubes etc running. I feel sorry for the ordinary people having to use, tubes and trians as they have no choice like us waiting for a review.
I've always said that these rich people and most of our politicians are rich think they are ok as they have private hosptials but always failed to recognise the fact that if they had a car crash, or attacked in london. etc first point of call is the NHS as they are now finding out. Even now they talk trash about ramping this up and that up but I feel like sticking a ramp up their backsides the incomeptent bunch of dangerous loosers.
Even the antibody tested being the good news it should be - we are 2 weeks behind the EU who have the same CE standards, why?
Then, our government, NHS services gov labs do NOT have the equipment to test these and the machines that do dozens of tests an hour at the size of a small car. Even testing someone will take at least 25 mins so two tests per worker per hour. We already know about the exsiting test kits and those at labs, other than once and that was a con they have not managed to test 100k in a day and the public are suffering and thousands dying in care homes, etc becuse this government along with the lame opposition are not capable of organsising a p up in a brewery and we are paying the price. Then, if you have worked hard and saved your money and own a proerty and not thrown your money away on drink, smoking, holidays, designer goods and paid tax after tax, IHT set to increase, trust me.
Sorry, my MP is a pile of dog mess - you need to get on to your MP and demand th b's PHE get their finger our or pass on the taks to someone that can do the job.
My mum is in her 1st year of treatment. She was due a flexi in mid April followed by session 10, 11 and 12 of BCG. Her appointment was cancelled but last week she had a call booking her in for a flexi today at the local hospital.
She now needs to go under a general anesthetic but our local hospital hasn't opened for ops yet so she's being sent to a different hospital. Been told she could wait 3 weeks for the op.
She's based in London so hopefully the hospitals will start to re-open all over the country and no one has to wait too long. Good luck to all who are waiting.
Hi . I hope all goes well with mum's cystoscopy. Good to hear that things may be on the move again. In the great scheme of things, 3 weeks should not make much difference. Best wishes.
