Consultant Calling

Hi all

My Consultant will be calling me with the results of the op on Friday

He told me I was clear jwhen he was doing his rounds

I was speaking to my enhanced recovery nurse today and I told her I was nervous,  she said if they had found anything they would  have contacted me.  I assume they were doing the necessary tests on my  bladder and tumour etc as I had the op on 4 March

I guess this wretched virus has held everything back

How long did those that had this op have to wait  in normal times?

I hope you are all weathering this storm. Fingers crossed that they find something soon, if not to cure then control

Stay safe

  • Hi Inanna,I waited 8 weeks after the cystectomy.I hope your call goes well,I’ll be thinking of you.How is your recovery going ? Love Jane xx

  • Hi Jane.

Great to hear from you as always

It seems to be the norm because its about 8 weeks for me too

I am fine in myself but feel so tired. I have to have a B12 jab every 3 months and that is a good month overdue i always knew when that was due because the lack of B12 absolutely slaughters you x never mind that i have had the op, B12 fatigue is horrible x getting mine done on Friday, so its a kind of medical day.  Going to the docs will be my first venture out into the world and I will be in shock no doubt

    I hope you are OK

  • Hi Inanna. I am also on 3 monthly B12 injection for pernicious anaemia. Just before my last one I got a text from my GP saying they are stopping the injections and they have changed me to daily tablets. They sent me a prescription. Hard to remember to take them. Not sure if they have the same effect, time will tell. Wishing for good news for you. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Immediately post op my surgeon said 'no sign of spread', but it was nearly 2 months before he said all clear, but had to be ratified at MDT. Formally got told at clinic nearly 3 months post op.

I'm sure you'll get good follow up with scans etc when you need them. Hope recovery going well.

  • Hi Rily

The fact that you are taking tablets is most interesting x i do hope they help but check with your GP about whether he/she is now continuing the jab

Please let me know how you get on with the tablets
