Hi all,
New here so maybe covering old ground.
So I’ve had six bcg installations followed by a biopsy which just showed inflammation. I had three”maintenance “doses the last of which I could not hold in and in fact had to release some of it prior to going home.
Six weeks later I am peeing every thirty minutes or less.
This did sting and I guessed I had a UTI my GP prescribed a course of antibiotics which made no difference. Then a second course of a different type. Still no difference.
I am assuming the Bcg installs have left my bladder in a sorry state and I wonder what you good folks can advise?
My urine is a good and clear with a delightful colour
A strip test shows blood and a raised ph
Hope everyone is staying safe
Hi and welcome to the group. I had a different treatment, so never had the pleasure of BCG, however, this is quite a common subject on here. The symptoms you present will be familiar to many. We know BCG can have an adverse affect on the bladder and some people suffer more than others. Good to know an infection seems to have been ruled out. I know how difficult it is now to contact the hospital medics as many have been transferred to other duties. The best advise until you can get medical advise is to drink plenty of water. I know this sounds odd as you are already peeing frequently, but it does help to keep things flushed out and helps stop bacteria building up. Also, keep away from coffee and strong tea as these are irritants to the bladder. Wishing you well. Best wishes.
Specialist nurse also advised Mr D that for some people tomatoes and possibly citrus fruits can be irritant. In any case hope it makes you feel better to know you are not alone in your maddening frequency trouble.... doesn't do much for my sleep some nights either...

Hello Dcwuk
Sorry to hear about your frequent visits to the bathroom. I, like Riley have never had BCG but during my treatment over the last two and a half years the mantra has always been water, water and more water. When I was having my chemo radiotherapy treatment I had no problems apart from visits to pee during the night. My consultant advised me not to drink tea or coffee after 3.00 pm which did help. Now I still have to get up one or two times per night but putting that down to advancing years and weekends where I have had a few beers.
Good luck
