Could I ask for advice please.
I had two tumors removed around 4 months ago, after 6 weeks I started BSG treatment, instantly I got e-coli, followed by more infections, so the BCG was cancelled, so I have not had any treatment.
The next thing was to have the camera to see how things were going, twice now it has been put back twice, I fully understand that there is a pandemic going on, but I feel very uneasy about has the cancer gone or not.
Thanks for letting me have a rant xx
Hi . Unfortunately. this is a sign of the times we are in. We are seeing many treatments and check ups being put on hold. Check ups can be very reassuring and going without them can cause a lot of anxiety. The positive thing in your case is that your TURBT was relatively recent and even just starting BCG may have done some good. We just have to wait and see what happens going forward. Best wishes.
Hi Bichonfrise1, my cystoscopy is on hold until further notice too. I think we'll just have to hold our nerve and hope for the best. At least it's stopped raining x
Yeap my cystoscope should have been next month, that's not going to happen now and i wonder how their ever going to catch up when the awful virus is done with x
Bichonfrise1, ranting welcome it's all part of what we're here for for each other - especially at the moment. May I suggest that when you do get any contact with the oncology/urology staff, you ask if you could perhaps try Mitomycin? The BCG appears not to have agreed with you so maybe a different treatment could suit you better. They won't agree if it's not medically suited for your case but it doesn't hurt to ask, does it? In my husband's case the BCG simply didn't stop a reoccurrence but the Mitomycin has, so saving his bladder at least for some considerable time-he's been reoccurrence clear for some months now. Next check due 6 months.
All the best and rant away whenever you need to, it's fine,
Denby
Hi Bichonfrise1
It's the same all round unfortunately. Although I was supposed to have mine last month, but I cancelled it myself a week before it was due because of one thing & another. I don't regret it as the hospital's never been the best, & I usually always get a UTI or two after it. I've had e coli too before now, very nasty that. So although I'm sort of worried, but there's no way I'd've been able to go out & shop & battle with the crowds under those circumstances. Then there's the worry if something else goes wrong.
I was wondering if we get through this virus, then maybe they'll keep the hospitals that they've managed to throw up in just a few weeks to clear the back log. I'm doubtful though.
