After going through the choices I have plumped for the stoma route and my bag will henceforth be called Basil, he of Faulty Towers fame x BASSAAIL lol
I met my CSN too and I like him.
Things are moving now, going to meet the stoma gang on Monday with my lovely Sis in tow
I knew I wanted to fo the stoma route for some time now. CB thank you for your stoma story and thanks to everyone here, you are marvellous
I know I will get my bad days but I am happy with the cards that have been dealt with
Hi Inanna,It’s good that you finally have a plan & have faith in your surgeon.I hope that you adjust to life with Basil ( great name) quickly. It is a lot to go through but there is plenty of experience & help here. How do you feel now knowing that you will be having surgery ? Personally I found the stoma the easiest part of the whole process.Love Jane xxxx
You will do well with such a positive & realistic attitude. Now you know where you are heading, you have a project to focus on & make preparations. Very best wishes for a smooth path.
Hi Inanna, what a relief it must be to feel properly informed and recognised as part of a system. It's great to feel confident in your surgeon, and you seem really comfortable with the surgery option. I guess it means you can expect the cancer will be completely gone, unlike me who having retained my bladder, live with the risk of the next reoccurrence. Hopefully your lovely sister will be on board to support you post op? Also so pleased you have met your CNS, they can be a lifeline at anxious times. I completely agree with CB's advice, the thing is for you to get as fit as possible ahead of surgery. Turn vegan, no alcohol or caffeine and down the pool putting in some lengths I did this, prior to a different big surgery I had, and I was glad afterwards. Sending you love. x
Hi Jane
I feel positive and feel the stoma is the right thing for me, I did not want to do the chemo/bcg route for me grabbing the bull by the horn is the best.. Neobladder doesn't do it for me personally. To me, Basil is the best option just grab that cancer by the throat I don't want Bill and Ben's relatives turning up
Love Inanna
Hi H
