Hi All. Just got back from seeing my consultant for the last time (hopefully). After being clear for the past 6 years and all recent scans and tests clear, I have now been discharged. Many thanks for all the support over the years, especially in the early days. Can't believe how fast the time has gone.  I am told there is a slim chance of a recurrence, but I will take that. Hope for us all. Best wishes.

    I know that I don't know
  • That's brilliant news. Must feel a little odd - I remember going from 6 moths to annual seemed a big jump - but I'm sure they'll not mind seeing you again if you have any concerns.

  • Great news Rily, but i was just wondering why after 6 years they discharge you, is that normal procedure for your treatment? Very happy for you though x

  • Hi Teasswill.. It really is a strange feeling after all this time, having the comfort blanket taken away. Saying that, although no more consultants to see, I am told I should be having annual flexis for about ten years. I am now 69, so someone is being optimistic.

SueCC. I believe it is usually 5 years before being paroled, but I had a few false alarms towards the end which stretched things a bit. Don't know where the time went. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Congratulations rily, you have the flexis to act as a comfort blanket now and they are reassuring.

  • Fantastic news Rily. You can march into your 70s full of vim and vigour! I'm finding it a marvellous decade full of many joys and delights.  I notice you will still be going for an annual flexi so that should help with the hospital withdrawal symptoms Slight smile Raise many glasses tonight and thank you for years worth of kindly, helpful messages. Your input is truly appreciated H xxx

  • Fantastic news absolutely  delighted for you and your family Just requested Mr W to open a bottle of red to celebrate
