Hello Everyone,
Looking for information/Help.
what does It mean by Invasive Cancer?
and also what is pT2a and what does it mean?
Hope someone can help?
Thank You
Hello . Invasive means it has started to penetrate the bladder lining into the muscle. The pT2a .is the staging for this. The p stands for pathological. This simply means the biopsy has been analysed in a path lab. The T stands for tumour and gives the staging. The stage is how far it has advanced. T2 means as above, it has started to invade the muscle. The "a" means it is only just in the stage 2 category. You should also be given a grading "G". This is an indication of how aggressive the abnormal cells are. The stage and grading dictate what treatment is necessary. All treatable. I am out and about at the moment, so sorry for the brief reply. Best wishes.
Hi there, it sounds like you’ve been given feedback from a biopsy? If you are in NHS hospital care that usually is the time you meet a Clinical Nurse Specialist. They are incredibly helpful nurses and it is part of their job to answer your questions, so they can always find time. Overtime I have found I don’t really take in details of what the Consultants have told me and I have phoned my CNS for further explanations. Best wishes to you.
