Been on Atlantis trial drug rucaparib for two weeks. This has left me completely wiped out. Could hardly walk. The oncologist took me off the drug and wants to see me after a week. Possible that it is something else. Magnesium level was still rather low. Process of elimination to find out the cause of this extreme weakness. Is anyone else on the Atlantis trial?
Hi . Sounds like it is tough going for you, but will hopefully be worth it in the long run. I can't remember anyone else here on this trial, and nothing from searching, so it looks as if you are the pathfinder. I hope you feel better soon and best wishes going forward.
Hello Richard
I've been watching the development of cancer treatment inhibitors such as rucaparib and other immunotherapies. I believe it's the future of cancer treatment.
That said, I just wanted to say how much I admire you for being on the trial as a guinea pig, good on you. I reminded myself during my 3 months of chemo, that pole-axed me, that others had trialled it before me without knowing the likely side effects - a brave act on behalf of many future patients.
I hope you feel better soon.
CB
I may appear to be listening but in my head I'm all at sea.
