Ultrasound showed vascular lesion on bladder. Waiting for cytoscopy.

Hello and welcome to the community, although we recognise that this must be a worrying time for you. The not knowing and uncertainty can make you very anxious. I believe vascular lesion is a general term for something which appears abnormal. The cystoscopy will give you a clearer idea of what you are dealing with. It is a painless procedure, sometimes slightly uncomfortable. A camera goes in to your bladder via the urethra and you will be able to see for yourself on the monitor. What they see determines what follow up is needed. Feel free to ask any questions. Many of us have been there. Best wishes

Thanks so much for your reply.   I'm grateful to have got the appointment so quickly after the scan and it's so helpful to know there are people here who have an understanding of this.  

Just phoned GP as I'm pretty much unable to pass urine - this all seems to be happening very quickly...  bladder very tender and I look somewhat pregnant!  Has anyone experienced this?

Hi . I would be inclined to phone the NHS 111 number for advice. They may direct you to A+E as it may be a blockage. Best wishes.

Hi,I'm a new lady here and also have had problems with bladder emptying.Have you tried standing up to pass urine ? I expect you have,but I thought I would suggest trying it if not,it can be helpful.Do you have any worries about the cystoscopy itself ? It is usually a quick procedure,only few minutes if it's done using a local anaesthetic.I'm sure you will find lots of support here.

Hi,You need to get to A & E/somewhere medical where they can sort this out as quickly as possible.I should imagine that they will put in a catheter and you will feel much more comfortable.Take care,Love Jane

Thank you all so much!  My GP was great - turns out I didn't have the full, stretched bladder she expected...  managed to provide a rather pathetic urine sample which showed a bit of protein which she though may indicate an infection even though I didn't have any of my usual symptoms so she's put me on a weeks course of Trimethopram.  She also talked me through my recent results in more detail which was really helpful.  I was delighted to hear that my ,most recent blood tests shows that liver, lung, kidney and pancreas function all seem fine.  A large growth on my left ovary was found during the scan (around 8cm) but this isn't thought to be harmful and the CA125 result is totally clear which is a relief.  The growth in my bladder (who I have named Brenda the B*stard - easier to direct hate towards something with a name) is around 2x3cm and has her own blood supply (greedy cow).  Will find out what needs to be done after the cytoscopy next week but feeling a bit more upbeat today.

Hi,I'm so pleased  that you a have a decent G.P and that she was able to help.Are you still having problems urinating ? At least you haven't got too much longer to wait for the cystoscopy though at times like these it feels like a lifetime.I hope that antibiotics help.

Thank you Jane.  Still difficult to get a flow going (wasting an awful lot of water with running taps...) but its improved since yesterday so hoping it is possibly just an infection and it'll be better before long - tending to overthink everything just now!

Hi Fionay68 , it sounds like you are on top of things and let's hope the antibiotics help usually 48 hrs I think to have an effect but sometimes quicker. 

It did make me laugh you naming it to help you cope with all the stress . There are always good days and bad days on this rollercoaster but stay strong, all the best.
