Hi All,

Into 5th week Post TURBT and still no results or appointment with consultant. I phoned today to be told there is a backlog and it could be at least another 4 weeks before I hear anything. So worried, is this normal to wait so long? I was T1 G3 on biopsy's in April and am worried it has got worse since then.

  • Hi Akira, Maybe worth checking if there is a system for grabbing any cancellation, just a thought. My husband's was T1 G3 too but after 6 BCG, another papilloma TURBT'd and 7 Mitomycin chemo, it has cleared. Now 3 months off then a flexi with single further Mitomycin at same time. Hope this gives you hope, though waiting is horrible.

  • Hi . It does seem a long time to wait, but on a positive note, it gives your bladder time to heal before any further treatment. Once the initial TURBT is done, it reduces the urgency and things go at a slower pace. Still worthwhile giving them a ring to se if you can get in earlier. The unfortunate thing about the current backlog is that those who shout loudest jump the queue and the patient patients drop further down the line. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • Hello Akira, you have my sympathies on the horrible waiting experience. We all wobble a bit around test results. Any chance your CNS could give you some information? After I had a recurrence my CNS told me my TURBT results by telephone to save me another drive into the hospital. Possibly this was because I was a year into my BCG treatment so she knew me well. Otherwise I'd support the suggestion of speaking to your consultant's secretary to see if a cancellation was a possibility, and to bring the delay to your consultant's attention. So many weeks of waiting for results is rotten, though as Rily says at least the removal bit has been done and that's what matters most. Fingers crossed for you.
