Hi! I find myself on here again looking for your advice. My husband went for his fourth year cystoscopy yesterday and we were told there and then that he had two tumours in his bladder. Four years since he had his first bladder tumour and chemotherapy straight into the bladder we thought we had seen the back of cancer but then hey back with the biggest shock yesterday. The nurse explained that she would refer us urgently as they can’t tell what stage it’s at until they operate again. Can anyone tell me roughly the timescale we r looking at for removal. How urgent is an urgent referral ? Thankfully we hadn’t booked our holiday this summer as she said we would need to cancel it if going abroad. Any advice on bladder cancer return would be great as we are both shell shocked. This Group was a Godsend to us last time. Thank you.
Hi Roxy204 . Just to echo what Lucy says. We know bc is known for recurrences, but it still must have come as a shock after such a long time. The fortunate thing is, because of this we are monitored regularly, anything new can be identified at an early stage. We often hear the word "urgent" but this generally means as soon as possible, and weeks rather than days. If you have not heard anything within 2 weeks, I would ring the urology waiting list office to check if they have a date. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
