Finished my 8 cycles of chemotherapy on Tuesday. Fantastic feeling to ring that bell. Will see my oncologist in about three weeks and have a CT scan. Hoping the tumours have shrunk further. I signed up for the Atlantis trial which will help keep tumours at bay. There is a course of tablets and continued monitoring. The staff at Leicester Royal have been fantastic and caring. Cannot praise them enough. My dedicated nurse always looked into any questions or concerns and got back to me every time. She went on maternity leave so all I had to do was speak to any of the other nurses.
Hi . Good to know you have rung that bell. I always had mixed feelings at the end of each step of treatment. It feels like you are saying goodbye to friends you have been with for weeks, but then we move on to the next step. We know chemo keeps working for a few weeks after treatment finishes, so don't expect to be running marathons just yet. I see from your other post you are getting out for walks. I found this really helped. Even though you don't feel like it and it tires you out, it also makes you feel better as well. Best wishes going forward, from another Richard.
