I was recently told that I was free of cancer in my bladder. But I have been left with a chronicly inflamed bladder. My consultant prescribed me Vesicare which worked for a very short time but I was soon back to severe burning when I went to the loo. And when I walk it's like someone is knifing me inside. I went to my doctors and he has prescribed me some different tablets. Which do not work. I can't go out anywhere because I have to keep rushing to the loo all the while. I get up sometimes 6 or 7 times in the night which is wearing me out . I feel so low and once I thought I would be better off dead.
Has anybody else experienced these symptoms?
I am seriously thinking of asking them to take my bladder out.
Hello and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear you are in so much discomfort. I assume you must have had some recent treatment to cause this inflammation. Lack of sleep makes us feel really miserable, but get those dark thoughts out of your head. These things tend to get better with time. I have not suffered as bad as you, but hopefully someone with similar experiences will be along with some advice. I can only offer advice that you probably already know, and that is to avoid irritants such as coffee and take plenty of water. You may also like to post your concerns in the Ask a Nurse section, where you will get professional advice. Best wishes.
Hello ,
Sorry to hear you are still in discomfort. Can you ask your CNS (cancer nurse specialist) for support? They are so much more knowledgeable than the Drs.
I can only offer advice that has helped me. I drink only water (and plenty of it) and herbal tea. If my wee gets stingy, I drink a teaspoon of bicarb mixed into a cup of water before bed. I avoid caffeine, carbonated drinks and alcohol. All sounds very boring, but you get used to it and it may only be for a while until your bladder calms down.
Good luck xx
