hello all . Had my RC last Wednesday and was wondering if anyone else had problems with there Drainage bag its been ok till today 5 days post op but now looks the colour of urine waiting for the onall doctor to come up to the ward as I'm writing this feeling scared that if it is a leak i may have to go back to theatre
xx
Hi Super girl
I know it's difficult but try not to speculate about what might be happening. If you still have drains in, there will be the internal fluids that the body normally deals with that are flowing out.
It may be urine from the joins of the ureters to the conduit. These take a while to heal. Mine took several weeks to heal up.
How do you feel in yourself? How's your temperature, blood pressure, heart rate? Do you feel sick? If so, press the bell and tell the nursing staff.
Otherwise, discuss your concern with the doctor team when they come round shortly.
CB
I may appear to be listening but in my head I'm all at sea.
Thank you Crusty it wasn't urine after all thank god they've removed the drain on Tuesday and its still leaking everywhere but the consultant is coming around this morning so I've written down a list of questions
r him .he’s going to love me lol . I had a bad day yesterday as my pain levels have increased and my out put had decreased substantially. I then when to to toilet last night and actually passed the
atural way so confused as this happened to any one else ? I might go on Britains got talent
Oh Super Girl, What a rollercoaster you are on, hang on in there. Hope things will become clearer once you have seen the consultant this morning xx
Latest update I'm still in hospital and still in a lot of pain will it ever go away? last Monday i had temp of 39 and it was my sister that spotted it not the nurses and it turns out it was sepsis due to the pooling ,been on three different types of IV antibiotics and tge drain as been put back in, feeling weak as a kitten and I'm struggling to see any light at the end of the tunnel
Try and keep your chin up SG - it won't be forever, and you'll soon be bouncing around again and living life to the full.
Aww Thanks for the update, although sorry to hear you are still having a tough time.
You CAN do this! You are Super Girl! Try to rest and let the medical team work their magic, you have come so far already.
Take care xx
Gosh Super girl, you've certainly been through it! But you've had a big op so it was never gonna be easy. You will get there in the end, I promise xxx
Super girl sorry to hear still in hospital but it sounds best place at moment. Sepsis is nasty and lucky your sister picked up on it, I thought the nurses doing the obs every few hours would have done . I have had sepsis since my op and it does feel like a kick in the teeth every time you get a setback. I thought myself and still do will I ever get better, then you get a bit of a good run and it gives you hope.
The target you have to set yourself for now is getting home. Concentrate just on that. Getting home will make such a difference. Are you walking much, I made myself 3 or 4 times a day dragging the metal stand with drips etc. Ask for a chaperone if needed. Again I found that made a huge difference. I had some strange looks walking at 4 am dragging my stand and drain bag pinned to me , around the hospital. They let me roam everywhere to be fair.
It will get easier just have to be a patient patient. The antibiotics should work quickly with the sepsis, fingers crossed. Good luck and hope things improve soon.
