Nearing the end

You soubdcsupported by the team around you. I wish you  peace and closeness with  each other. 

Margaret has been transferred to the Palliative unit at Mount Druitt hospital, the most compassionate and caring place we both could be in.

When I arrived, I watched an old guy bring his even older Aussie Cattle Dog into the hospital, right through the lobby and up the main hallway of the ward. I asked a nurse if that was allowed, and she just smiled and said "It's expected". His dog had been fretting and he bought him in to say goodbye to his wife. 

Margaret and I have had the most beautiful night together, just her and I. I've told her how much I love her and she's held my hand while I kissed her face.

Seeing her so peaceful has given me the strength and serenity that I need. 

Even now, she knows me better than I know myself.
